Nattilingmiut have elected a new Member of the Nunavut Legislative Assembly.
Jeannie Ugyuk received a total of 358 votes to become the constituency’s new
representative. Anthony Angutittauruq garnered 196 votes while Joseph Aglukkaq
received 127. Six ballots were rejected.

The polls in Gjoa Haven and Taloyoak were busy all day. By the time the polls
closed, 687 eligible voters had cast a ballot – a voter turnout of 69%.
Financial returns are required of all three campaigns within 60 days. As well, the
winning candidate must submit her return before she can take her seat in the
Assembly.
