RANKIN INLET, Nunavut – There are three candidates in the race to become the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut for Nattilik. Joseph Aglukkaq and Antony Anguttitauruq, of Gjoa Haven, and Jeannie Ugyuk of Taloyoak filed their declarations of candidacy with Returning Officer Teddy Carter earlier today.
A by-election in Nattilik was called after the former MLA, Enuk Pauloosie resigned his seat on February 22, 2010. The Nunavut Elections Act requires a by-election within six months of a seat becoming vacant.

Those in Taloyoak can vote on April 19 from 12 to 7.
Any voter who is housebound should contact the elections staff to be visited by the mobile poll on April 19. Anyone away temporarily from the constituency can get a special ballot application from www.elections.nu.ca or by calling Elections Nunavut.
